Forest School

At Livingstone has developed its woodland area into an outdoor classroom and Forest School, providing pupils with valuable opportunities for hands-on learning in a natural environment. The Forest School takes place both in our own grounds such as our pond area and the local woods.

This is a fantastic opportunity that enables the children to explore the outside world through a programme of fun and exciting outdoor activities.

Our children have the opportunity to:

  • identify man-made and natural objects
  • sort objects into categories
  • play games e.g. ‘my tree, your tree’
  • recognise and name woodland objects
  • learn about woodland creatures and insects (even spot a reindeer if we're lucky)
  • learn about lake wildlife
  • make potions/mud pies
  • build dens
  • go on a treasure hunt and much more
